Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko signed a decree on the revival and development of historic sites of Chernihiv region.
The historical center of Chernigov may be added to UNESCO World Heritage List, and new tourist routes will appear in the region. Separately, the issue on a historical-archaeological reserve "Ancient Liubech" in the famous village Liubech should be worked out.
In particular, Ukrainian government together with the Chernihiv Oblast State Administration are assigned to submit proposals in accordance with the established procedure to add this cultural heritage - the historic center of the city of Chernigov - to UNESCO World Heritage List, to develop a set of measures aimed at the development of museums, historical and cultural reserves of natural and cultural heritage in Chernihiv region.
In addition, they must take action for social engineering and transport infrastructure of the historical localities in the Chernigov region, in particular, for building new and renovating existing facilities and water supply, gas supply, drainage, renovation and reconstruction of roads, demarcation of state land and municipal property in the territories of historical places of Chernihiv region.
Money for these purposes should be provided at the time of finalizing the draft law "On State Budget of Ukraine for 2010" and the preparation of draft budgets for future years.
Chernihiv regional state administration must work out a program of the development of historic sites, providing the archaeological research, development of land management projects on the establishment of the lands of historical and cultural destination, as well as develop new tourist routes to the historical places of Chernigov region.
The decree was signed in order to revive, preserve and develop further the historical and cultural outstanding sites of Chernihiv region, research and promote the unique cultural heritage of Chernigov region. |
