In Kiev on Khreshchatyk dress rehearsal of the parade of troops, which will be held in the capital on May 9 to mark the 65 anniversary of the Great Victory, is being held.
The rehearsal is held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Mikhail Ezhel, reports UNIAN.
The Minister noted that a high level of preparedness and the organization of the parade of troops promise Ukrainians and veterans that this day will become a real holiday and celebration of this anniversary.
"To take part in the parade, each soldier during the intensive training goes in the ranks about 20 miles a day," - said the Minister upon completion of first phase of the rehearsal parade.
He noted the high level of readiness of troops for the parade. However, the Minister stressed that in preparing for this event, there are still some minuses, which will be corrected and refined until May 9.
Ezhel also noted the high level of training and consistency of Russian and Belarusian armed forces who arrived in Ukraine for joint participation in the parade with representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Interaction is wonderful," - said the head of Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
The event was also attended by other heads of the Ministry of Defence, General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Administration of Ukrainian President and security services, units of which are represented at the parade.
The participants of the parade of troops, which will be held in Kiev on May 9, received the blessing of Ukrainian Orthodox Church to participate in the celebration of the 65th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War.
During the rehearsal parade, which is currently held in Kiev, the Archbishop of Lviv and Drohobych, the chairman of the sinodny department of UPC on interaction with the Armed Forces and other military units of Ukraine of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), Augustine traveled by the cabriolet "The Seagull" along at Khreshchatyk aligned more than 2500 troops and sanctified and blessed them to participate in the parade on May 9.
In total over 2,5 thousand members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, as well as the members of the Armed Forces of Russia and Belarus are striding now the Kreshchatik.
According to the scenario parade, the rarity military equipment of World War II, in particular the T-34, will also pass on Kreshchatik.
As it is known, on the Victory Day over a thousand of Russian soldiers will march in Ukraine.
The decision on the mutual participation of the armed forces of Ukraine and the Russian Federation in the military parade in Kiev and Moscow on Victory Day May 9 is the result of private agreements between the Presidents of two states. |
