Dishes of Ukrainian cuisine have earned a deserved reputation throughout the world.
Different flour products (pampushkas (Russian donut), dumplings (that go into the borscht), vareniki (curd or fruit dumplings), cookies, etc.), meat products and dishes (sausage, cold appetizers, meat, poultry, etc.), vegetable and dairy products (fermented boiled milk, cheese cakes), drinks of fruit and honey enjoy wide popularity. But especially loved in many countries is famous Ukrainian borsch.
It is prepared from fresh vegetables: cabbage, beets, tomatoes, etc, and is napped with powdered lard with garlic and parsley. The combination of these products gives the dish a delicious aroma and taste.
Ukrainian borsch has up to 30 species (Poltava, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Volyn, Lviv Borsch).
Various porridges, dumplings stuffed with cheese, potatoes, cabbage, and in summer - with berries are also widespread.
Equally popular are dishes such as stewed meat with potatoes (Pechenya), Ukrainian cutlets, stuffed with garlic and bacon, ham stewed with cabbage and lard, krucheniki and baked in sour carp, carp stuffed with mushrooms and perch baked with mushrooms and crayfish.
