December 17, roundtable discussion "Ukraine-Turkey: Black Sea Dialogue" took place in Sevastopol, organized by Sevastopol State Administration and the International NGO "Platform Dialogue Eurasia," the press service of SSGA.
The forum was run by the representatives of the Sevastopol City State Administration, Turkish Parliament, the Cabinet of Ministers of the ARC, the leaders of the organization "Platform Dialogue Eurasia", the representatives of science and culture of Sevastopol, Turkey, Crimea.
Addressing the audience, the vice-governor of Sevastopol, Vladimir Kazarin said: "Sevastopol became one of the centers of active international life in Ukraine. Now in Sevastopol, in addition to our forum the visit of First Lady of Ukraine Kateryna Yushchenko with a group of German businessmen, who had come to consider investing in Sevastopol, takes place".
A week ago we passed a large roundtable discussion on cooperation in the Black Sea region. In 2 weeks Sevastopol delegation flies to Brussels, where the presentation of free economic zone city of Sevastopol will be held. Today roundtable discussion is taking place on cooperation with our closest neighbor - Turkish Republic".
Vladimir Kazarin drew attention to the fact that "the creation of an international climate in Crimea and Sevastopol began more than 10 years ago with the active participation, but mostly on the initiative of Turkish side. It is the Turkish side at the time initiated the establishment of the Turkish department at the Tauride University. The Turkish side has created in Crimea a network of educational institutions, where students are studying Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, English and other languages and have the opportunity to enter higher educational institutions in Turkey after graduation."
According to Vladimir Kazarin activities of the organization "Platform Dialogue Eurasia", undertaken in the humanitarian field and promoting the development of relations between Turkey and Ukraine deserves special gratitude: "During this time, dozens of delegations from Crimea and Sevastopol have visited Turkey in a variety of organizations, educational institutions, business forums made our connection with the Turkish side not theoretical, but practical and businesslike."
During the roundtable discussion the participants discussed the problems on education and science in Ukraine and Turkey, problems of cultural development, as well as the state of economic relations between Sevastopol, Turkey and the Crimea.
Let's recall, the international NGO "Platform Dialogue Eurasia" was established in 1998 to reconstruct and develop cultural, educational, humanitarian ties between the countries and peoples of the Eurasian continent.
"Platform Dialogue Eurasia" aims to spread the message of dialogue and tolerance among peoples of Eurasia and the whole world, promote peace and understanding on the Earth, to promote the intellectual and cultural potential of cultural and historical heritage of Eurasia. The headquarters of the organization is located in Istanbul. There are representative offices in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine.
