The Nominees for Best Artist over the past 20 years are Vitaly Kozlovsky and Ivan Dorn, female singer - Ani Lorak, Iryna Bilyk, Natalya Mogilevskaya, Sofia Rotaru and Taisia Povaliy.
YUNA (Yearly Ukrainian National Awards) will be held first in the Palace of Arts "Ukraine" on February 8, 2012.
At the ceremony, the awards will be given as a result of development of Ukrainian music over the 20 years of independence, in future it is planned to become annual.
There are eight categories: Best Artist, Best Female Artist, Best Band, Best Album, Best Song, Best Composer, Best Lyricist, Best Music Video.
In addition, for special achievements in the field of music, the first YUNA award was given to Sofia Rotaru.
In the category Best Artist Viktor Pavlik, Vitaly Kozlovsky, Ivan Dorn, Alexander Ponomarev are nominated.
Andrey Danilko has also been nominated in the five best singers, but he withdrew his nomination, as his stage image - Verka Serdyuchka - does not match the category either of "artist" or "female artist".
At the same time Danilko hoped that there will be a special category for artists of original genre.

Badoev is nominated for his three works (music video for Tina Karol "Nochenka (Night)", Band "VIA Gra" "Potseluy (The Kiss)" and Iryna Bilyk "Sneg (Snow)"), Papernik - two works (music video for Natalia Mogilevskaya "Luna (Moon)" and for Iryna Bilyk "A ya plyvu (I'm floating)"), Alexander Solokha - music video for "Vopli Vidoplyasova" - "Vesna (Spring)".
Organizers note that the purpose of YUNA Award is to stimulate further development of Ukrainian music, of its creators and performers. The award was created in 2011.
In honor of the first YUNA Award along with famous Ukrainian artists special guests are invited - Thomas Anders, Karl Frierson ("De Phazz") and singer Oceana. Oceana will first perform a full version of the song "Endless Summer", which is the official song of UEFA European Football Championship Euro-2012. |
