Krolevets (Ukrainian: Кролевець) is a city in Sumy Oblast, Ukraine. Population is 25,183 (2001).
Named in honor of the Polish King Sigismund III, Krolevets was founded in 1601. The original name was written as Krolewac (Krulevats). Krolevets was annexed by the Russian Empire in 1654. In 1897 it was incorporated into the Chernihiv province.
Krolevets is situated on the Kiev - Moscow railway and auto route. Distance from Kyiv - approx. 260 km. Distance to Russian border - approx. 80 km.
