At a meeting with voters in the Palace of Culture of Morshyn in the Lviv region, the President Victor Yushchenko, inter alia, focused on the fact that he failed to do five years of his presidency. According to the President, he failed to form a government and eliminate corruption. The cause of this situation, Yushchenko called "constitutional reform Kuchma-Moroz in 2004". On January, 3 the correspondent of Western Information Corporation told this from the scene.
"In December 2004 the country's presidential system became parliamentary, or more precisely premier system", - Yushchenko explained the loss of power to influence the important appointments.
The President pointed out that Ukraine has become more criminalized for five years. "Corruption is not created by the opposition, but it is created by the power, which is assignated by the majority of the parliament, which is headed by the Prime Minister. For five years, the power has become more criminalized, the coalition has the majority of people having one, two or even three convictions. These people are given power in the electoral system", - explained Yushchenko.
"Look at the list of BYuT, you will never see more oligarchs. They each place is paid up. They came to power, for not only to launder money, but also to gain more capital", - he added. Yushchenko stressed the need to change the electoral system: to return to a majoritarian system and open party lists. The President also noted the urgency in making amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine.
Note that Yushchenko was met with the full room in Morshin: Palace of Culture is designed for 800 people. People crowded in the halls of the Palace of Culture, where a screen was placed to broadcast speeches conducted by the President of Ukraine.
