KYIV. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Budget Code, said on Tuesday the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov, speaking at a public meeting Ukrainian Forum "Program of economic reform: strategies and implementation mechanisms".
"For the first time we went to the fact that a significant portion of income, namely, eight national taxes and duties are delegated to the local level.
We fix the right of the local budgets to distribute 25% of the collected tax.
We are scaling up this serious financial resources to the regional budget, the district budget and even get to the rural and township budgets.
The goal is one - to encourage local authorities to maximize the promotion of entrepreneurial activities in the field to create their own resource base", - said Azarov.
The Prime Minister also announced that on Wednesday at the governmental session the consideration of the Tax Code is planned.
According to him, in the draft document will be reduced by the number of local and state taxes, and the procedure of tax administration will also greatly simplified.
Azarov expressed hope that the Budget and Tax Codes of Ukraine will be adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, which will allow the Government to Parliament to submit a draft budget for 2011, prepared on the basis of the new codes, in early September.
