Ukraine's GDP in I quarter has grown by more than 5% - Azarov

KIEV, April 20 - RIA Novosti. Ukraine's GDP in the first quarter of 2011 grew by more than 5%, said the Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at the cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

"According to statistics, gross domestic product for the first quarter of 2011 grew by more than 5%", - Azarov said.

In 2010, Ukraine's GDP grew by 4.2% after the recession in 2009 by 15,1%, against the backdrop of global crisis. GDP's growth for 2011 is laid at the level of 4,5% in the State Budget of Ukraine.

General Prosecutor of Ukraine has chosen the punishment in the form of undertaking not to leave the place for ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine, the leader of the opposition party "Fatherland" Yulia Tymoshenko in the framework of the "Gas" case, the spokesman for the Prosecutor General Yuri Boychenko told to RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

General Prosecutor's Office last week filed a criminal case against the former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and ex-head of Naftogaz Oleg Dubina.
 
Amusing incident in Kharkov: Drunk man stole trolleybus

37-year-old drunken man saw that the driver left the trolley open and went to the control room, went into the cabin and drove. Having passed 50 meters, he smashed the tree.
 
The man was arrested by law enforcement officers. During questioning, he explained his actions by saying that "he decided to get home as soon as possible".
