"Thus, the decision of the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting about the allocation of frequencies for broadcasting of Ukrainian TV channels "TVi" and "The Fifth channel" was appealed on 27 January last year" - was said in a statement posted on Tuesday on the website channel.
The Court fully satisfied the claim of a media holding UAInter Media Group for "Channel Five" by an appropriate decision.
Television did not mention the exact date of the decision by the court.
On Monday the group of "Channel Five" addressed the president with an open letter in which they expressed the concern that the channel may cease its existence.
The journalists accused the chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine, member of the Supreme Council of Justice, Valery Khoroshkovsky, of putting pressure on the judicial process around the canal. But Khoroshkovsky has denied these accusations.
After the decision of the court the journalists are worried that the loss of frequencies can lead to the loss of license.
"Thus - the staff consisting of 5000 people may become unemployed, and Ukraine - may confirm the status of the State in which freedom is minimized," - was said in the the report of the channel.
"Channel Five" is a leading information and news channel in Ukraine.
