The offer of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to join "Gazprom" and "Naftogaz Ukraine" was not discussed at any level before the talks in Sochi. This was said by the deputy head of presidential administration of Ukraine Anna Herman in comments of "BBC".
Putin's proposal to unite "Gazprom" and "Naftogaz"- is only an idea that should be discussed from the standpoint of national interests of Ukraine" - said Herman.
"We need to sit down and to have a look, to count, whether it is acceptable for Ukraine in terms of its national interests, and then comment. Every idea has a right to exist. If it is interesting and profitable for Ukraine, we can continue this conversation, if - not, this idea may hang in the air," - she also noted.
As REGNUM News reported, on 30 April, the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin proposed to merge Russian Gazprom and Ukrainian Naftogaz. Putin made a statement after the meeting of the intergovernmental committee on economic cooperation of Ukrainian-Russian intergovernmental commission, which was held in Sochi. |
