 The reason is the debts of Ukrainian "contractor" of the competition - the National Television and Radio Company of Ukraine (NTU) - to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the owner and organizer of the "Eurovision".
In total, according to the Ukrainian press reports, for the past few years, NTU, known to Ukrainians as "Channel One", has owed about 2.5 million dollars.
Failure to pay this amount within 240 days threatens Ukraine disqualification, loss of space in the EBU and, accordingly, withdrawal from the contest.
It is noteworthy that NTU has remained silent on the matter.
Furthermore, official warnings and threats of punitive sanctions by Europeans have not been posted until now.
